Here are 5 reasons why I am happy we are moving










With the fires, I remember watching the news back in Mexico, and always worrying about the affected people in the West Coast. It was always a horrifying view, almost like taken out of a horror movie. But you never really understand how serious this is, until you live here, and have to be evacuated. A couple of years ago, several wildfires were started all over the San Diego County. It was very stressing, because with my husband working two cities away, I worried that we would end up being separated by a fire. Not only because these fires were crossing the highway that connects the cities, but also because they were just happening randomly, one of them, getting way too close to our home. Even if we were blessed enough with not loosing our home, not everyone was as lucky. I can only imagine how horrible it must be to have to run for your life, and lose everything you own. As a collector, and holder of family heirlooms, I would be devastated if I was in that situation. Although I agree that material things cannot replace a life--ever, living here has always made me feel like I cannot fulfill my role as a keeper of family keepsakes. Not a good feeling for someone like me.

Overall, what makes me the happiest about moving, is not necessarily the negative or frightening situations that SoCal may have, but the opportunities that opening another door as we close this chapter will bring. Every place in the world has it's pros and cons. 

Now that you've read the reasons why I am happy that we are moving to a different place, where we can try to have a different experience and lifestyle in hopes of being able to plan for a better future. I'd like to share with you, that there are also wonderful things about living here, which I am going to miss terribly. Things that I love to do, but would have to wait until we come back to visit our family here.

As we grow older, there are many things we leave behind. Some, because they were easy to forget, and others, because they weren't that important in our lives. Although I was very young, I still remember having my mother tucking us in, and asking both my brother and me if we wanted to hear a bed-time story. To celebrate National Love Your Pet Day, I wanted to honor our loving furry family, and share those pets that have marked our lives in different ways.



Mia was adopted by our family when she was a kitten. She was almost going to be named Jade, because of the color of her eyes. She LOVES tuna fish, and aside of speaking Cat and understanding English, she speaks Spanish. Yeah! When she wants water, she meows in a peculiar way, which sounds like "Aqua", which sounds pretty much like "Agua" which is water in Spanish.


She loves to be pet, but if you are barefoot, she will literally throw herself at your feet. Although she is shy, and cute, she is also very mischievous. She is pretty clever you know. When you are not watching, she will do something close to another pet, trying to get them in trouble. So don't let those angelic eyes fool you., because I am sure she is planning something real soon.


Nahlia was adopted when she was about 6 months old. This little cutie loves doing adorable poses. and we call her "The Human Whisperer", because her meows are so soft, that she literally whispers. Sometimes she just moves her mouth, pretending to meow, which is hilarious. Nahlia loves turkey and treats. She is the huntress of the house. No matter if it is a gecko, a bug, a lizard or anything else, she won't let it pass our door. She is my buddy, because she likes to hang out with me most of the day.


This adorable kitty loves playing with her toys. They are like her stuffed friends, and she always have them close to her. We love her so much, she is just like a little kid, which makes every day a ton of fun.


These Loyal German Shepherds are waiting for their human mommy. Whenever she gets home, they get very excited and jump all over the place. I love these dogs, and I am so impressed by their size, that I keep on saying they must be relatives of werewolves.
