I am beyond excited to be celebrating the release of Disney•Pixar "COCO" with a themed movie night, and feel very honored to be able to share this experience with all of you. As you already know, I was born and raised in my dear old Mexico, and because of this, I am very attached to the tradition of celebrating the Day of the Dead. I really love to tell stories about my ancestors, especially my close relatives, in order to keep the memories alive; I think it's very important. Now that I am a Citizen of the United States, it brings me much joy to be able to share this beautiful tradition with my husband's family and my friends here in the US. To me, this movie represents how rich diversity is, and how wonderful adopting other cultural traditions may be to our own families.

We were honored by an invitation from Allied IM San Diego to an advance screening of Black Panther this past February 13th, 2018. And of course I had to share my experience with all of you once I recovered my thoughts, because my mind was blown away by such a fantastic experience.

I'd like to start by sharing that, although I am a huge fan of comic-book superheroes, I really didn't know the story behind Marvel's Black Panther. The cool thing about the Marvel's Cinematographic Universe franchise, is that you don't have to worry much about not knowing the background of the characters when you go watch the movies. This is mainly because they are very good at creating the right introduction, so that you don't get lost while trying to understand the story. So with that being said, pay attention to the beginning of the film, and you'll know what you need to know, in order to understand the origins of Black Panther. The film also presents a series of snippets of Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, being this the first movie in which we got a glimpse of Black Panther's character, thus, reminding the viewer about events that have led to the story in this film. Nonetheless, these snippets are created in a way that if you didn't get to see that previous movie, you still understand what is happening.

They are strong, they are fast, they are powerful, and they are parenting! Coming this Summer, your favorite incredible family of superheroes is suiting up and getting ready to fight some bad guys. It brings me great joy to share that the wait is getting close to an end for all of those who like us, have been waiting for this film for a while. If you have been following along, you should know by now that we are huge fans of all the superheroes in the Marvel Universe. Lucky for us, there is always a birthday or anniversary to celebrate around the time the movies are released, so enjoying these films has been like a tradition for us. I've always been a comic book geek, and we even wear themed apparel when we go see these films. After years of waiting and knowing that a big war was coming, ever since the first Marvel's Avengers movie came out, we will finally start with the countdown to Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War to continue that story line.
